Elizabeth Sombart
President of the Foundation
For 25 years, Elizabeth Sombart has been devoted to bringing music where it does not go, as well as training pianists during master-classes around the world, through the Fondation Résonnance she presides. Made a Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters for her artistic career, Elizabeth initiated the project Women with Broken Wings following her meeting with Mallika Sarabhai in 2010.
Mallika Sarabhhai
Performer
An internationally acclaimed performance artist, producer and director who has championed the use of arts as an instigator for social change, Dr. Sarabhai has been Director of the Darpana Academy since 1978. Amon the many honorary recognitions she has received, including the International Lifetime Achievements Award 2009, Mallika has also been made a Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
